[Connection Sharing] 327w in bridge mode

ok, i want to do away with the "Mediocre at best" web interface of my westell 327w modem\router and just make it a plane jane DSL modem. im going to be using an IPcop server to do all my routing and running several different services. i have this setup at my business with just a westell 2200 modem hooked up to my IPCOP server, hooked up to my switch, and it works perfectly! Verizon wont give me a plane old modem in exchange for my 327 (darn corporations) so my questions are...

1. will bridge mode do away with the internal firewall, port fowarding,DHCP ect... so it can ALL be controlled by my custom server?

2. what port on my 327w would be the typical WAN port (there are 4 identical ethernet ports on the back)
and what woould the other ports do in addition to just the WAN port?

3. is there a way that i can use the wireless feature as JUST as access point that would also go through my IPcop server?

4. am i just better off finding an old 2200 on ebay or somthing?

ANY insight on this problem would be GREATLY appriciated!

THANKS!

1. Yes
2. All will be WAN ports, as long as you supply login/password you can connect 4 devices to the ethernet ports on the back (assuming Verizon allows for multiple IPs, in Canada, Bell Sympatico DSL does allow for multiple devices)
3. I have no idea, but I assume NO.
4. Certainly NOT, reuse/reduce/recycle.
