 [Servers] Gigabit has really improved my NAS performance!

Thanks to all who helped with suggestions while I was upgrading my LAN to gigabit.

It is very noticeable when running backups, or otherwise accessing my NAS servers. The speed I can access them at is almost as if they were local hard drives. I thought things were good with fast ethernet, but gigabit really has improved my ability to access these devices.

what kind of nas is it?

i bought a Dlink DNS-323 while it was on sale, and to be honest i'm thinking i should have just spent a little extra and built my own.

  One is a Linkstation Live, the other a Linkstation Pro. Both are gigabit capable. A large download which I do regularly used to take about 20 minutes now completes in about 5.

I upgraded the switch, plus my PC NICs.
