Re: More IA6 troubles

My internet was down on 970 when I came home last night and then it finally came up after I ran setup and it stalled. Signal strength was 22 and just when I had given up it came up to 35 and then to above 65 and I was able to run setup.

Problems on 'SAT MAX 5'? 1170
My internet was out from afternoon until bedtime last night on 117:W:1170. Seems to be working well this morning.

This morning from about 11am MDT to 11:45am MDT, both my System and Transmit lights were out. I was getting a message that no transmitter control messages were being received. I could not access the Internet.

Anybody else on IA6 have similar problems?

The modem is currently back up and working.

And, the saga continues. Already confirmed with another occupant on 1247 via telephone, at around 3PM Eastern (July 11), all lights out again, with exception of Power/LAN. .. Sort of off/on a few times, the last being less than an hour ago. ... Nothing showing in Logs, and no changes in System Info or anywhere else. .. Thus far, good speeds. ... Lately, I've been getting the "Failure to Connect to Web Server" message (over the past week, off and on). .. Is it only us on 1247, or are others on different transponders (on this bird) noting anything at these hours?

Same problems noted here as well. Today (7/6/2009) had some down time too. Called tech support, who in turn called the NOC, and they were advised that transponder 1247, along with two others were being "reprogrammed." No mention as to what the other two were, but my guess would be here on G25 (IA6). .. Said all should be finished by 7PM eastern. .. All is back up now, and have been all through the system control center and nothing has changed there, so I just cleared stats and will see if the reprogramming did anything. .. At first I thought they may be going to change the Inroute Grouping back to where it was when it was performing okay, but note no change there. .. Oh well, just have to watch the stats. They told me to call back if anything was out of the ordinary when they finished.

I called Hughes support on July 4 and they told me that indeed they were having problems with IA6 that day. I waited all day for the signal to return and it never did. Today it is back to normal.

could be simply a transmit issue. Either your cross-pole is below borderline now, or the transmitter is out. Try force ranging.

Check your reset log. Maybe you got switch back to the old firmware.
