[WIN7] Win 7 User Custom Settings

Does anyone know where the "custom" user settings are stored? Things like wallpaper, sounds, tray icons, etc ...

I think it might be in C:\users\myname\Local Settings.
But this folder is dimmed and can not be accessed.

It's 'dimmed' because it's hidden. If you're running as a computer administrator you should be able to access it just fine.

I understand why it is dimmed. I am logged in as a Administrator and I can see the properties on the folder, but I cannot access the folder.

I took ownership on the folder and I was able to get in.

That folder is nothing more than C:\users\myname\AppData\Local

Which you can access without any hoop-la.

The settings are stored in the User's registry, C:\users\myname\NTUSER.DAT

If you need to view or change the settings, you'd have to do it in a registry editor.
