Re: [OS X] iMac hard drive failure :(

It is a holiday weekend. I'm sure the combination of people having off (more time to bring in problem computers) and geniuses getting time off or taking time off ("sick" days) has them a bit backed up.

I'd cut them a little slack. If it's not done by Tuesday morning, then you've got something to be pissed about.

Just my opinion though. Let us know if there are any updates.

I guess.

All I wanted was for them to give me a realistic estimate as to when it would be repaired. They don't seem to be able to do that.

So, I wait.

Update: I am less than impressed with the repair process. I took it in on Thursday evening. They said, maybe Saturday afternoon it would be repaired and that I was lucky they had the part so I wouldn't have to wait. So, I have been checking online but it just says "repair in progress". So finally I call them. Once again "you are lucky, we have the part" but it still hasn't been repaired. I ask why the long wait? They say "well, we have been really busy at the Genius bar and they haven't had time to do any repairs." Turns out there are others in front of mine that also haven't been worked on this weekend. Seems like they need more staff.

Nope, not impressed.
I wouldn't hold it to them. It was a holiday weekend so like mentioned already they were probably short handed. You will have you're computer back by Thursday. They are pretty good/quick with these repairs at most Apple stores.

Well.... I have it back now!!! I'm currently trying to restore my data using Time Machine. Sure is taking awhile to "check Time Machine backup..."
