I found the problem, IEEE 802.1x authentication was checkmarked for some reason.
I unchecked that, and now (so far) it seems to be working better. |

| reply to poppster One slight problem. My wife's wireless connection keeps dropping, a lot. My wireless bridge (linksys) will constantly keep a connection while on xbox live. Any suggestions? It also says that it's "validating identity" when connecting. Do I need to manually set an IP for her pc? right now its 192.168.10.102. Surely it's not because I have MAC filtering on is it? My bridge never loses it's connection. -- What else would you do? -- There is hope! |

| reply to poppster Linksys needs to be 192.168.10.XXX
Put the Linksys router's LAN IP address outside the TrendNet's DHCP server range.
Example:
TrendNet's LAN IP: 192.168.10.1 DHCP server range is 192.168.10.100 to 192.168.10.150
Linksys would be 192.168.10.2 -- Got a Clark,Crown,Drexel forklift and need technical advice? Ask me about it. |

Mountaineer1 Big WVU Fan Premium,MVM join:2002-01-12 Universe | reply to poppster The TrendNet's LAN IP,let's say,it's 192.168.1.1,then your Linksys needs to be 192.168.1.2. -- Got a Clark,Crown,Drexel forklift and need technical advice? Ask me about it. |

| reply to Mountaineer1 ok before I move the router to my 360 I need to do the following?
set the linksys lan ip to my trendnet's ip? they both share the same ssid, and wep key. I got the internet to work with the linksys on my wife's machine, but when I get it to the 360 it says that it can't resolve the dns. It finds the network, but won't connect to xbox live. |

Why do you not recommend ddwrt on my linksys? Would the linksys then see my trendnet without a long wire run? |

1 edit | reply to poppster While a very few wireless routers CAN act as a Wireless Bridge, the TEW-432BRP does not appear to one of them.
I read the User Guide, and used the Emulator, and neither leads me to any hope for the TEW-432BRP as a Bridge.
(You could use the TEW-432BRP as your router, add DD-WRT to the WRT54G V5 and then use it as a Bridge, but I do not recommend it) -- I tried to remain child-like, all I achieved was childish. |
