Ideally you should use all 8 pins of the aux 12v connector.
If it is running stable you could just leave well enough alone. It should be ok. I will plug it in on next reboot then. Thanks! -- Graphic Disorder |

| reply to Shado1 said by Shado1 :Look at page 2-36 in your motherboard manual. Yes I had read that, but it reads like bad stereo instructions to me. I am sorry for the noobie question. Do I connect just 1 or 2? I have a 650w power supply that has both plugs. Currently running just one of them. -- Graphic Disorder |

| reply to Chillin Question.... I noticed my motherboard has the 8 pin (2 x 4 pin) plug for the power supply. Most boards you just use 1 4 pin? The board shipped with the second set of 4 pins covered so I just used 1 of the 4 pins. My power supply does have a plug for both.. should I be using both?
Its running fine right now with one set plugged in. -- Graphic Disorder |

| reply to Chillin I run 2 back ups actually. I have a 1tb external that copies my "data". I have a HP Media Smart server with 2.5tb copying the whole PC also. Both of these happen daily.
Still not sure ill try the raid out. Maybe on my next format. -- Graphic Disorder |

Yeah that is a con but with all of the drive space he has on other drives it only makes sense that he be running a back-up plan.
If I was running RAID I would always have a full back-up and keep it up to date weekly. -- In need of a Vegas vacation.

2 edits | reply to Chillin Ghost over to your 1TB drive include MBR and then re-image after you setup the two Raptors as Raid.
You will need to setup your BIOS to show it which drives you are using as RAID and what configuration you are using RAID 0. -- In need of a Vegas vacation.

Ive never played any with RAID... so probably above my head. What kind of speed increase would I see? To late now to do it probably since computer is already done? Speed on load will fly. It shouldn't be hard to do now just create an image of your current HD and then just setup the two raptors as raid and then flash the image on to them. Depending on how much space you system takes now shouldn't take more than an hour to do. Sounds easy enough. One of the Raptors is already the OS drive.
How would I "flash the image" to the other one? Ghost? Then what? is this something set up in the bios or do I need a standalone controler or software or what? Pros/Cons of each way? -- Graphic Disorder |
