The usual way is they go in a baggiie in the other recycling. (And all your other worn out recharge, alkaline and normal batteries too.)
You just made me look..... while I use mostly recharge batteries, I now have a lage baggie with about 10 lbs of batteries in it, since last dump likely not much more than 6 mo. Hate to think what family of several kids and their toys generate. -- »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West)

1 edit | Re: cell phone battery Honestly not sure about electronics places, but I know in many states auto stores are REQUIRED to take back used oil, batteries, etc.
