Seriously - i figured the caller would pay - otherwise i would not have thought it would be free.. I guess i'll wait for GoogleVoice, which i think will do what it want... for free.. | |

| As stated, google voice is free. But like all things google, there's a catch. What it is I don't know. The service is new and the unknowns haven't been exposed yet. I think the old cliche "if it's too good to be true..." applies here.
One technical detail you should be aware of: If you call back someone who called you at your google number, the actual number you are calling from will appear on their caller ID, not your google number.
If you want your google number to show up on caller ID, then you have to call into the system, access your account, and follow the prompts to return the call through the google network. Or, you can log in on line and call through your computer. Seems a bit awkward, but if you are bent on keeping your "real" number to yourself, that's what you'll need to do.
