I know blockbuster rented game systems, but do not know if they still do. You might get a better answer if you say where in Texas you are, because Texas is a pretty big place.

What is a decent price to you? With the way the market is now a days and unemployement I'm betting if you check Craig's list or local pawnshops and buy one on the cheap(after making sure it works). Might be worth checking and seeing what you can find.

I *look* at pawn shops a fair amount for guitars, amps, accessories and also at other stuff while I'm there. In general, their prices -- at least their *marked* prices -- are ridiculously high. I suspect the only people who buy from them are those who *think* they have good deals or people who can't, or won't, buy at regular stores.

Yeah, I'd recommend just buying it and selling it as well.

Walking into Subway tonight I noticed the Rental store next door had a sign on the window that said they rented game consoles. I would call one of the the places that rents furniture and tvs.

Some rent to own places have game systems, I know Aarons used to but you have to be really desperate to put up with their crap.

As for the pawnshop, if you do go that route don't expect to sell it back for anywhere near what you paid. Tried to sell 6 month old elite version with rock band world edition, they offered $100 for the whole setup.

Much better idea than the pawn shop.

As others have mentioned, just go to a rent-to-own place. When they say "x dollars per week", people don't realize you can rent their stuff for a week, a month, or however long you want. A co-worker used to rent a big-screen TV (before they became common) during World Cup (soccer) from one of those places.
