a device that i can plug from the modem to the computer (cable phone) and i can use it to answer calls and display caller ID on the screen when the phone rings.

Springfield, IL		 It is called a eMTA or for most they call it a Voice over IP Router, or ATA.

i'm just looking for software/modem that just allows me to use the phone on the computer.
