| reply to jsmiddleton4 said by jsmiddleton4 :Not sure what your point is there dvd. My service in the afternoon is dial-up speed. Already verified and determined by Cox folks to be unacceptable. You sure seem to try and make my, and other's, complaints about our expectations. Are you trying to be helpful? Well its a common misconception people believe they "pay for XX mbps" when in all actuality they are paying for "UP TO XX mbps" when its rez service. I never said your slow speeds were acceptable nor did i say cox wouldn't do anything about them. -- When I gez aju zavateh na nalechoo more new yonooz tonigh molinigh - Ken Lee |

| reply to physix what a stupid bunch of crap this is, isn't the upload way out of bounds? Why can't they fix this?!? Its the same every time. The cox tech got this same result on his own cable modem at the street.
Typical runaround. "we've scheduled maintenance on or around --insert 1 week from now--" Please try again later. QAM adjustment whatever... FIX IT.
Shall I take another poll of my neighbors? |

Wanted to document this somewhere if I need to refer back to it.
Would be great if others would post some concrete numbers from "approved" testing. (See post on "What to post when...") |

| reply to brian2220 For me I'm wondering at what point I file a formal consumer complaint with the AZ Attorney General's office. I'm waiting for service Saturday morning but I'm not going to do the Cox dance as before. We pay for an advertised service level. We aren't getting it. Its like in the morning if we go to a gas station and pay for 20 dollars worth of gas, we get 20 dollars worth. But by the afternoon if we pay for 20 dollars worth we'd only get 5 dollars worth in our car. And when we complain, we're told something is wrong with our car. And we seem to be letting Cox get away with it and folks like me who complain here are told I have a problem, something is wrong with me.....
With all the things I pay for it is only Cox that consistently provides less than Cox has agreed to provide AND they have excuses as to why its not their responsibility.
After Saturday's service me personally, I'm done. It is either fixed on Saturday or I am filing a complaint regarding consumer fraud Monday morning with the honorable Terry Goddard. And I bet I am not the only one to have done so or to be doing so. Cox just does not seem to want to get it. I as well as others want the service levels for which we pay Cox. Nothing more, nothing less. These dial-up speeds and not being able to connect to web sites starting in the afternoons into early evening is problematic.
I hope for my sake Saturday gets it fixed. I really do not want the frustration of dealing with a formal consumer complaint. I detest it when companies force consumers into acting like a jerk. However is not fixed Saturday Cox is leaving folks like myself with very few choices and IF the only option I have is to jerk-up, well I'll be the best jerk I can possibly be.....
Cox will get a chance to see how some of their lame excuses fly with Mr. Goddard.
Yes Cox needs to go to people's homes for certain kinds of problems. That does not mean Cox needs to go to people's homes for ALL kinds of problems. There needs to be an on-going organized triaging of their infrastructure by Cox rolling trucks to their various taps and capturing data out in the real world. Get away from your terminals and your pinging at your air conditioned terminals and start checking the infrastructure out here in the real world.
Create a map of problem areas and then fix them.
Imagine that. Cox actually doing some real world testing and preventive maintenance.
"We've pinged your modem from our tech support call center and everything looks fine from here...."
So?
Me back to decaf now. |
