DIR 655 Mixed Network G and N? Should I just use G?

Hi - right now I have a DIR 655 at home and out of all my devices only one has Wireless N card on my work laptop, the rest are on G.

Even then the speeds seem slower on that N laptop, it's some Intel N card wireless, which i don't know why is slow.

Either way, I was inquiring should I just set my DIR 655 to use Wireless G only and keep the Mhz to i think its 20.

Or use both the n/g.

Want to maximize bandwidth for downloading etc. and speed. Don't use the work laptop that much at home.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

If you don't have connectivity issues with a mixed network I don't think there's anything wrong with the mixed settings. If you have wireless connection issues then I would advise just using g only. You can check your wireless connectivity to see what rate n and g are connecting at, and see if the rate changes too much.
You could even lock in a rate if you wish; which I personally prefer to do.

I'm not sure how good the 655 is at a mixed network, so maybe somebody with more experience with this router can answer.

I use 802.11b/g/n mode it's more stable that 802.11g/n or 802.11n.
Use 20/40hz
Use WPA2/AES
Auto Channel

Interesting but lets be totally truthful B/G/N is only more stable for G & N as for B its useless

I am 98% using N and 2% using G, but not always..This is how Belkin N+ works best so doing it on D-Link works too. Big difference in chip set features as I can see how D-Link is going for Ralink over the Atheros.

120/270 or 150/300 daily now instead of the wacko N only or G/N only combinations those give poor results like 60mbps for N over 120. Not good.
