said by exocets_girl :So, I'm going to Cozumel on a cruise with my husband and several of our friends in September. You do understand that Sept id prime Height of hurricane season.... decent chance you will end up somewhere eslse but Mexico..., though likely you will pass through Key West, though even that can get called off, and sunndenly you are in the Bahamas,, Jamaca or somehwere else.
Not a given, but very likely that time of year.... why rates were rather low too then. -- »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West)

| We port out of New Orleans, so if there is a hurricane in the gulf, or even approaching the gulf, and our cruise doesn't get canceled, we would have to cancel anyway. My husband is a law-enforcement officer and is required to report for duty in those circumstances.
It's always a possibility that time of year, but you take a chance... if it's canceled, we get our money back... been there, done that! -- I know nothing about computers, I'm just married to a geek who does! |

| reply to stev32k Someone actually just sent me a recipe, and I'm going to try it out. Honestly, the thought has never occurred to me. My family has bought our tortillas from the same little old lady for years... -- I know nothing about computers, I'm just married to a geek who does! |

| reply to exocets_girl You said about $200 of tortillas? That's an awful lot. If it's legal to bring them back, talk to the chef on board and he'll probably let you put them in a walk-in cooler or something that will keep them. Other than that, Fed-EX! Keeping them in your cabin will probably spoil them, even w/ the minor refrigeration unit. Good Luck & Have fun! |

| Thanks for the recipe! I'm going to try that out before we go!
I'm not worried about them going bad once I get them on the ship... four tortillas can go several days without refrigeration. It's like buying a loaf of bread.
Also, I'm not buying that many just for me! My whole family in New Orleans will need some... we will split them up and freeze them, that way they will last till the next time one of us can get back to my mom's hometown in AZ!
