4 edits | [Info] New Wireless Settings That seem To Be Working Well.
These are the settings Im using on the 4500 right now, and I've been trying everything lately to stop the de-authentication wireless disconnection error, that appears to happen at random. Did some searching over weekend on advanced wireless settings, did some more searching on all the settings that I'd be changing, and so far have had great results. In 2 days there could potentially be a disconnect, but again so far these settings are working out very well, normally you can tell after about 4 days wether settings are stable or not.
1. Reset to factory default. 2. Run the wizard and then reboot.
3. Use 802.11b only @ 11 Mbit/s transmission rate, never use auto. You aren't getting the speed of g or n, but I have tested games and general internet use and its fine. If you feel its slow then use g only, but I advise b only. 4. Use wireless channel 11, never use auto channel scan.
5. Turn gamerfuel off. 6. Turn wish off. 7. Turn wifi protected setup off. 8. Use WAN port speed of 100mb, never use auto. 9. Enable multicast streams (not sure how much effect this has). 10. Enable WAN ping response (Not sure how much effect this has).
Advanced wireless settings
These setting have greatly increased my wireless performance.
11. BEACON PERIOD: 38 12. DTIM INTERVAL: 3 13. WLAN PARTITION: YES 14. WMM ENABLE: YES 15. SHORT GI: YES
16. You may want to reserve IP's also.
If anyone is having wireless issues on any D-link router could you use these settings and get back to me? I really want to know how much impact these changes are having, like I said I suffer from de-authentication wireless disconnection issues. I've had an up time of 2 days so far and not 1 wireless disconnect, I'd love to know if others get similar results.
Did some research on beacon period, dtim interval, vlan partition and wmm enable, and these are the result I got. Aparently these settings give a much better wireless response, and so far I agree with the changes. |
