| bypassing login to access web interface of router ?
I have an ADSL modem/router/gateway. Its brand is Airties 6271. I think it is sold only in my country (TURKEY). The router is in my home and my laptop is the only computer which is connected to the router.
When I got this modem 5 months ago, i set a web interface login password. Right now i need to change wpa/wep settings but i cannot login to web interface. either i forgot password or a problem with login page exists. Anyway, i tried to push the reset button at the back with a paperclip several times.
I tried to push for 5 seconds, the lights blinks but nothing changes Then I tried to push for 10 seconds, the same. Then I tried to push for 30 seconds, the same Then I tried to push for 60 seconds, the same
I tried with the phone line connected and with the line disconnected. I tried several other methods but i did not succeeded in resetting to factory settings.
Interestingly, the modem's internet connections setting is not affected all the time. In spite of all resetting trials the modem is always connected to internet.
I contacted with technical service of my modem. They said that they should keep the modem for two weeks to determine the problem. But this is too long without internet access. Is there any way to bypass login page to get to web interface. Is there any button or switch in modem's box that will actually reset the button.
Any suggestion is greatly appreciated. |

| One other thing to try is: power off, press reset button and hold while powering on, keep button pressed for 10-15 seconds.
If that does not work, then you will need to find some documentation for that modem/router. -- AT&T dsl; Speedstream 5100b modem; openSuSE 11.0; firefox 3.0.11 |

If you have forgotten the password you have defined for logging in to your device using the web interface, you need to reset your device to factory defaults. By going back to factory defaults, all other settings that you may have configured (ADSL, Wireless, LAN settings) will be erased. To reset your device, press and hold the Reset button on the back panel for 5 seconds while your device is on. You can then login to the web interface by leaving the password field blank, and reenter all your settings.

...but since that did not work when you tried that earlier maybe the user manual has some help...

I presume you read Turkish...
You also might contact your ISP for help. Maybe they can reset it remotely. -- "When all else fails, read the instructions..." MS-MVP Windows Desktop Experience |
