| Choppy video when streaming fullscreen
It doesnt matter where the video comes from, or how full the buffer is.
When I watch hulu in fullscreen mode, its choppy, maybe 1fps at best. In the smaller window, its just fine. I watch alot of stuff on hulu.
I used to think that it was because my computer was old and crappy. I just bought a less crappy laptop:
Vista Home Premium 4gb ram 250gig HDD 2.0ghz AMD Athlon X2-64 processor NVidia GForce 8200 GPU
This computer doesnt do any better than my old inspiron b130 with only 32mb of graphics memory...
Any suggestions? -- I'm tired of killing stupid people just trying to do my job and go home! |

2 edits | Laptop you say - is there any power management happening?
Odd that it doesn't happen when not full screen. Shouldn't matter...
hulu, huh? hulu desktop or the website through a browser?
EDIT: Here on this T2500 2.0GHz laptop, hulu desktop in full screen cruises at about 90% on both processors(88 - 92%).

It was hulu trhough a browser, but its not limited to just hulu. Try it on the networks streaming video pages its the same thing.
In fact, the only one that seems to work in fullscreen is youtube...
NBC, USA, CBS all choppy.
I'll get the other computer out in a bit and snap a screenshot of the task manager.
As I said it was a new laptop last week, but I'll grab the other version for IE also. -- I'm tired of killing stupid people just trying to do my job and go home! |
