If they don't find an "area" issue, I'd have a tech check the specific QAM channels that are having an issue at the ONT and on your wiring. MTV & CMT share a QAM channel as well as Nick & Comedy Central and Spike & VH1 (2 HD per QAM). 99% of the service calls I've gone on with the same symptoms as yours have been bad coax. Good Luck!

Bad coax? All the other HD channels are fine? I didn't have any problems when they added all the .tv channels a while ago. When you say bad coax, are you talking about the fiber to the ONT or the coax runs from the ONT to my boxes?

I have an HD box and a MR-DVR. Both have the same problems with these channels.

Yup...could be bad coax (not fiber) or splitter for that matter. If a part of the pathway (coax, splitter, ends.....) is preventing the QAM channel(s) from reaching the STB at an acceptable level it could cause what you are experiencing. And yes, since all the QAM channels are on different frequencies, you could experience the problem on only a handful of channels.

If it does turn out to be a problem with your coax network, it's important that the technician takes reading for the effected QAM channels and not just a closeout test, which takes readings on a sampling of channels. If the specific channels are not tested, he will just be overlooking the problem.
