I'm well aware the state of the economy right now. Yes, it's bad, but it could be worse.
However, TWC had a large ad in the News & Observer this past week, they are renting out a rather large venue, and having a pretty large hiring fair, of which I plan on going to later this week.
Companies like Verizon won't likely stop FIOS deployment in it's tracks. They did however note that they will likely slow deployment. Considering the economic environment, Verizon is weathering the recession rather well.
People are not dropping their cellphones or service quite as fast as you think. |

| reply to Mero My modem died so I called them to replace it.... Everything went great but at the end of the conversation the sales guy started asking me if i have another phone to add to my account. After I said no, he persistently tried to sign me up for their voice service... Even wanted to knock down the internet price... It looks like they are desperate for their VoIP. |

4 edits | If they did this to me I would have then asked him for the cancellation department and tell him that his persistence of trying to get me to sign up for VOIP is why I want to cancel.
Sounds like this droid was just after a commission. You didn't have to actually go thru with the cancellation if service was decent if you wanted to.
But:
People who treat me like trash like that get cancelled. No ifs and or butts.
I don't stand for crap. RCN was like that to me and lost lots of revenue since I wound up cancelling the whole service with them.
Time Warner via Earthlink Cable has not done anything bad on their end so far and in fact they aren't even pushing VoIP to me at all.
Knocking down price matters not because they will miss bill you and charge you full price.
All offers must be in WRITING and they tried to upsell you on a product you didn't want in order to gain more revenue. |

1 edit | reply to Pizz Any plans for Docsis 2.0 to NYC? Switching to Verizon is just too much a hassle for me in my life right now.
My cablemodem is Docsis 2.0 capable. Would be nice if they offered Docsis 2.0 service, I don't need Docsis 3.0 speeds. Docsis 2.0 would be plenty if it was offered. |

| RR will skip Docsis 2.0 so don't wait for that. Docsis 3.0 is supposed to be implemented by the end of the year. I had outage last night, hoping to see any upgrade, but nothing has changed.
If I had an option to go with Verizon FIOS, I wouldnt miss a beat. 25/25 package is too hard to refuse, imho, tbh. |
