| [Help Me] DIR655 issues w/mouse computer while downloading on Xb
I just bought a DIR-655, everything is fine. I have a Wii, a Xbox 360 and and second computer connected by a wire on the second port.
With the Xbox 360 and the Wii, the connections are great.
Now, this is where the problem is, I downloaded a game demo (more or less 700 megs) and when I was surfing on the web using the computer where the router is connected on (Using Windows Vista Home Premium), the optical logitech mouse was going nuts, I could not control it. When the game was downloaded, everything was back to normal.
Also, I noticed that my ISP connection (Cogeco) is a little bit slower.. It takes more time to log on the mail server and tell me that there is no message, with my previous router, a WRT54G, it was way more faster, I almost didn't have time to see the "no new message" display..
Any ideas guys? Thanks.. |

To fix that problem turn the WRT54G into AP if you don't have that option then use DD-WRT firmware for that router. So what your doing is isolated G network from the N router network. Even if you set the router to 802.11b/g/n and set the 20/40Hz to auto. I would still not run G and N on the same router. |

1 edit | Thanks for the advice, the thing is, I wanted to use DD-WRT on my WRT54G and unfortunately, something happened and it is dead (bricked). Could not revive it, unless going the JTAG route, and I guess it was time to buy a new one anyway. Hmmm.. Anyway, I changed the priority for the Xbox and Wii using the QoS service options.. They are now at 100 and my main computer is at 1.. Maybe that will solve the problem |

1 edit | The thing is, I had a previous router, it was a WRT54G and I never had this problem before. While downloading the file on the Xbox 360, my main computer connected to the router, was going crazy. The mouse was going all around the screen, I could not control it, and my system even hang. I had to reboot.
I don't think it was about the mouse, it affected the mouse of course, it is a Logitech G7 Cordless mouse and it is compatible with Windows vista
