that is, of course, if your corporate network personnel have configured the vpn concentrator to accept both tcp and udp connections. while the initial ike phase i and ii negotiations occur over udp/500, it depends on how the nat-t spec is configured. some use transparent tunneling over udp/4500 (non-500-isakmp in the cisco world) and some use the tcp standard (tcp/10000) and some randomize the tcp port to whatever suits their needs.
long story short, if your enterprise vpn doesn't support tcp connections (or udp), then no setting on the vpn client will make it support them.

Sorry I have nothing to add here but I'd like to ask a question.
What type of VPN are you using? I have been using VPNs for 5 years with various ISPs and have never encountered any problems with latency and jitter. For the past couple of years I keep 5 VPN tunnels up to different sites 24x7. The only problems I have encountered is with out of order packets. I am curious what VPNs have problems and why. |

Even if the tech knows nothing about VPN, he/she should be able to solve the noise problem (or whatever the issue is) which is causing all of the T3 and T4 errors. |

most VPN clients are highly sensitive to latency and jitter. Usually this is caused by noise on the plant, most often within the customer premise
Unless you are a business services customer, the tech isn't going to be able to do much to troubleshoot the VPN and a residential tech is also not likely going to know what issues can cause VPN probs so they might not even look in the right places.
if you want to go ahead and register and send me the MAC address of your modem via private message, I can take a look at it to see if I can find anything and then let you know what specifically to ask the tech when they come out. |

|  I work from home most of the time and as of the last few days my VPN connections have been dropping a lot. 5-10 times a day. I've looked at the logs but can't make heads or tails of them. I'll post them below. A few weeks back I had a business line put in and the tech indicated that my levels (Tx/Rx) were fluctuating a bit. I don't know the swings, but I know VPN IPsec tunnels etc are sensitive and can collapse when these things happen. Wondering what I can have my tech do tomorrow when he comes to get to the root of the issue. Would love some ideas / thoughts etc. Thanks!
