said by morbo :At the very least, the unique "tax writeoff" they received for the Fairport deal should be rescinded by the IRS. On what legal grounds? Assuming Verizon followed the letter of the law that allowed them to have this writeoff why should Verizon be punished for the poor business decisions made by someone else?
That sounds almost as silly and preposterous as forcing US taxpayers to bail out banks that made bad loans to people who should not have been borrowing in the first place.

Kind of like a company that was allowed an aquisition in the first place. Fairpoint should have never been allow to aquire Verizons unwanted territories. The regulators that allowed this to happen should be fired, and billboards itemizing this fiasco should be erected in areas that Frontier is looking to aquire from Verizon. -- BF69~~~Please stop suffocating gerbils! |
