| I was on a promotion that had just ended, I was only paying $78 for tv and internet. When the deal ended it went up to $139, when I first called, I was told I had to wait 90 days to get another promotion and Comcast was being strict about the $99 triple play was only for new customers.
If you talk to enough reps, you can get a good deal. |

| In metro Atlanta. Talked to Comcast agent and the HD-Plus Triple Play deal only waives the HD "equipment fee" of $6.95/mo on one box on the account, for one year. The website states "Free Hd - no service or equipment charges" but that's evidently not entirely true. Did not ask whether they would honor the deal for an existing subscriber but knowing this now I want to do some recalculations. It is so frustrating that they do not specifically state the level of service associated with each package. "HD Plus" is same as Digital Preferred but they add HBO. Since I don't really want HBO that's not a driver for me. |

| reply to Comcaster912 Tried to get the Comcast Triple Play HD Starter Package deal for $99, but was told first by one rep for Comcast that it was not available to existing customers.
Tried again on line where it clearly says it is available to existing customers, and made through all the screens completing the requested information. The last step in the process was to chat with a live rep. Was immediately told again, that the deal was for new customers only.
When I complained that I accessed the deal through an existing customers option, and was even asked to imput my account number, after a delay, the rep came back on line and said it was only available to customers with one level of service ( I have two - tv and internet).
After much back and forth I was told to go to my local comcast office and they may be able to help me out. I was then also told to call another Comcast number tomorrow first and discuss the situation. The rep said she would flag my account (I'm sure she did i.e. disgruntled troublemaker, or worse I'm sure).
Come on Comcast, I've been a long time customer who always pays their bill on time. Do you really want to lose my business over something like this? |

| reply to Dennis99 Re: Comcast new deal what are the hidden costs
I get that kind of run-around, as well. Because my apartment building includes the "basic analog" in the rent (though we have to establish an account with Comcast - my bill just shows a credit every month for the price of the basic analog service, $18.95), Comcast says I don't qualify for any of the special deals for upgraded packages. They want over $50/month just to upgrade to Digital Starter, with a $30 "installation fee".
Sorry, Comcast, I'll just make do with what I have. I'll download to my computer any TV show I want to watch that isn't on the locals. -- *************** I think computer viruses should count as life. | reply to koshoka I don't know about the hidden costs, but I am currently in a go 'round with Comcast about signing a two-year agreement. It is the deal that includes HBO free for two years, but the actual contract does NOT mention HBO, only the Digital Starter.
I have gotten answers that range from "Yes, HBO is supposed to be on the contract, we will send you out a new one", (they sent a duplicate of the original), to "It doesn't have to be listed in the contract, it's part of the promotion", to now a supervisor is researching the question. I was even told that I was the only person ever to ask them to add HBO to the contract.
I'm sorry, but they want me to sign what amounts to a legal, binding agreement for 2 years, with a $150 early temination fee, but the promo offered is not included in the contract?
Am I being too picky??? |

| reply to ebubman And that is what I feel like when trying to work with these jerks. First call, I was told the Locked & Loaded package was over, that was I was elgible even though I have all 3 right now, that was 07-11, so I recorded the add on tv, good thru 07-12, and made 2nd call and was told not elgible this time. I told the rep there was nothing in writing to imply that and wanted to speak to a manager, never called so I will call one more time, will shop for other service |

| reply to Unhappy Customer No you're not being too picky.
I understand your concern, but HBO is a part of the 2 year agreement. On our order entry screen it states "HBO Free 24 months". Didn't know that the agreements didn't state that. I haven't had that call either(about HBO not being on the agreement), but good on you to catch that. |

The "Locked and Loaded" Triple Plays online are available, but as with every promotional price, there are eligibility terms.
Terms: All three services new ($200 back) or 1 line of business.
Now, I understand the frustration for what you are saying, but usually we have options available for current customers that work great also.
For example, in Chicago Land (Illinois, Indiana, Mich) For current customers:
If you have Digital Preferred/Classic $74.98 with 1 HD DVR $15.99, 6-12M CHSI $42.95, and CDV $39.95, and called for the $99, though you wouldnt be able to get it, you can get $44.99 for you cable (including the price of your HD/SD DVR). That would bring the bill to $127.98.
Now that works out because the $99 package has Digital Starter. Classic is under the $119 Locked and loaded, so its only a difference of $8 dollars. In some areas, for current customers, you can also do a 1 year agreement for CHSI and CDV also to lower those.
Dennis, what state are you in? |
