Re: [motherboard] Motherboard may have failed?

Each time I reset the cmos (remove the battery and let it sit) I restart and end up at the AMI screen and it shows the hard drive. Then it goes to the bios and the hard drive is no longer seen. I tried this with several hard drives and it's always the same thing.

Per XFX customer support I have tried setting the mb on the non static bag, and removing everything but the cpu, and memory. It goes to a screen that says Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key. Since I don't have a boot device I can't do it. I then added back the hard drive and end up with the AMI screen not showing the hard drive, and bios not showing it either. I reset the cmos and it shows the hard drive in the AMI screen, but not in the bios.

This is driving me crazy.

Have you checked all of your BIOS settings to make certain that either the PATA or SATA, whichever the drivers are, is enabled? If SATA, make sure it isn't set for RAID function if your not doing RAID.

If you have other cables, try another cable for data.
