I think that you've covered all the bases on this... At this point, it looks like the Mobo's HD Controller has died. 
Is the Mobo still under Warranty? If So, then it's RMA-time...

| Thats kind of what I have been thinking too, but wasn't real sure. It's still under warranty, and I have a ticket with tech support at FXF, so hopefully they will come to the same conclusion soon.

| please try and just turn on the system with only the power supply motherboard and video card inserted. bare minimum setup only. also try and see if you can find some clear cmos jumpers on the board itself they will be small and look like to steel spikes sticking up that you normally would touch a screwdriver to when booting up the computer. |

| I did that and it does the same thing once the hard drive is hooked up. I have a feeling it's the board. Per XFX I removed the battery and let it sit for atleast 2 minutes to clear the cmos. No jumpers necessary for this process.
