Re: glub glub

It seems like thunderstorms always hit right when it is time to walk home, doesn't it? If it's raining this hard in half an hour I'll have to try and catch the bus...

I wouldn't know yet. I've only been doing this walking home thing for two weeks. It had occurred to me that there might be days like this when I'd regret it - I don't even have the option of catching a bus. The rain doesn't worry me so much, but this cloud-to-ground lightening sounds potentially unpleasant.

It is down pouring so hard right now and I have my umbrella in my car. Can't go home now!

Had some glorious thunderstorms roll through earlier, and now the fire trucks are going out constantly. I'm guessing it's the water though, not a lightning strike.

Re: glub glub

All last summer it was a running joke in my office (if you can call it a joke since it was kind of not funny) that we were constantly having huge storms blowing in just in time for everyone to be walking home. You know, the kind of joke where someone says, Gee! It's dark like night-time except for all the lightning! and someone else says Yep, must be about time for us to walk home! Ha ha.

When I took a vacation last year the storms re-aligned themselves to cause me massive delays on the tarmac instead of coinciding with my walk home

Re: I'm getting webbed feet

LOVELY, lovely weekend!
Full house, full staff, no problems, fireworks were great, rooftop office worked great, just got stuck at work a bit longer than I hoped for.
The "yacht club look" (deck shoes, shorts polo shirt with foul weather gear at hand) is SOoooo more efficient and pleasant than ANY office casual. Glad I'm not working a boat though.

Slight fun today with a flat bike tire, but not a bad push home. Back-up tube had a woman's name and 774 cell number in it. Tube doesn't work and even on my worst day, I'd remember a woman giving me a phone number in a bike inner tube box. Must have been a return...

Got home around 6:30PM, my neighbor whose below-graded garage was flooded.

Had to get to Home Depot to pick up some cement blocks for my upcoming lawn project. There were a column of trucks belonging to some "cleaning & restoration" company blocking the entrance of my local Marlborough Home Depot. Ironically, my Home Depot was flooded and had water damaged and closed. I felt bad for those homeowners who needed cleaning equipments and were turned away.

with due respect to those being hit really hard (and getting damage)
yes, it's Karma...
next time keep the snow in the winter
and the Pacific Northwest won't send our rain your way

hang in there....it will get better......
at least it does here....about September

then Winter starts in November....

Weather is ALWAYS lovely or at least charming here on Cape Cod! And the traffic is never bad either! unless you flip an SUV on the bridge Friday before the Fourth

I don't know how you folks in the PNW can stand it, all the clouds and rain. This is really bumming me out.

The clouds and the grey do get old, rather quickly.

But actual rain, we don't have that much more than other areas. We have lots of days that are just sprinkles, enough to be annoying.

We do definitely appreciate our sun when we actually get it.

We have tons of gloomy stuff! The Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce wants more of you! Lots of inside stuff to do! Stay Goth at the Edward Gorey House in lovely scary Yarmouth Port! Why risk a tan? Come to Cape Cod!!!

Sorry SW, it was too easy, and I still have to pay the bills.

A friend of mine did that in college under a bridge. His car was then named the USS Gribko
