But i would much rather have 35/20 then 25/25. |

| The suspicion is that if everyone else gets 25/25, that the CV areas will get 35/35. That I can understand. It would make much more sense for Verizon to attack CV on the bottom tiers where the lions share of their customers reside, rather than worry about matching the speeds of the low number of customers on CV's 101M tier. |

| reply to Hispanic said by Hispanic :But i would much rather have 35/20 then 25/25. I would rather have 25/25 over 50/20. I'm just not comfortable about these speeds continuing past August when the tier is advertised as 25/15. If my 50/20 uploads do not increase in this supposed August update and the 25/15 tier continues to see uploads at ~25Mbps, I'm going to switch. I might even pick up a bundled pricing as it would be cheaper than just paying for TV/Internet. (unless I can bundle just those 2 services?)
If I do get phone service, they will have to allow me to keep the copper POTS phone line on a different account, separate from the FiOS/fiber service. No, I don't anticipate that my bill will ever be correct again if I try and make this happen. |

| reply to The Folsom After week and a half, I still got the error on my account which won't allow anything done to it. Every rep I've talked to tells me something different. First 4 said it would take 24/48hrs,, which it didn't... 8th rep said 5-7 business days. All in all, it will probably take a month. Worst service from a internet provider I ever had. |

| reply to The Folsom I have to admit that i'm jealous of Optimum Online Ultra speeds even though there is a $300 activation fee. All the talk about bpon and gpon but it seems that Verizon is building out bpon over here in NJ. At least in my building which was wired fairly recently, it is bpon. I don't think Fios will ever compete on the downstream side so that is why it is advertising the uploads. |

If you want, I can set something up for you to upload to (via HTTP or FTP, whichever you prefer) to test things out. In theory since I can pull @ 25 Mbps and you can push @ 25 Mbps, we should be set.
Here's my test result from just now:

1 edit | reply to JeepMatt I have noticed uploads starting very slow sometimes, then ramping up slowly, not reaching full speed for half a min or so. That'll mess up a speedtest run when that happens.
Also annoying since I'd rather the full upload be there right away, not a slow start. Dunno what triggers the slow start, seems to happen randomly.
[edit to add] I'm still all fluffy here: Interesting side note, this test server reports that it's send buffer needs to be tweaked to really keep up with my download. =p (bolded that part)

| Are you good enough acquaintances or friends with any of your neighbors? I'd run some tests from their side at the same time your speeds go down the drain and see if they see similar slow downs. -- He who is not contented with what he has, would not be contented with what he would like to have. -Socrates |
