Reply to the TheTruth,

I would think twice to post info for DIR855, because he is deleting comments from his forum as well. "double standard" of his own Looks like a pour character to me... And I used to respect his advises...
Can you please get me some examples and screenshots if possible. I'll also pop into those threads and see if I can't grab some examples as well. I've been real busy with work and my own site so haven't been able to deal with D-Link much. I have a nasty for them tomorrow though...just in time for Christmas.

Dlink is up to it's old tricks again...here's yet another banned example...this one a little bit more fuzzy...but it clearly shows the attitude of the so called "Technical Engineer Global Moderators".

Ok Folks,

It would appear that this latest firmware fix while it may have fixed a majority of the 3 day lockup issues it still leaves unfixed a ton of other problems including wireless. Almost universally the wireless issues have remained the same or in several cases become worse than before based on the multitude of forum complaints I've read over the past 6 days.

To make things worse, D-link is telling those who who recently filed BBB complaints that they want them to try the firmware instead of replacing or refunding the router. This is a stalling tactic folks and don't fall for it. Whatever you do..do not allow the BBB to close the case against D-link until you have received satisfaction.

This is how they are tricking you folks. Instead of filing a response to issues raised by the consumer through the BBB arbitration process what they are doing is filing a FINAL RESPONSE FROM COMPANY. You get the email and then by BBB rules you have a short time to respond with your acceptance or refusal. IF YOU FAIL TO RESPOND the BBB closes your case favorable to D-Link (and this is what they are counting on).

DO NOT ALLOW THE BBB OR DLINK TO DO THIS TO YOU! If they push the firmware nonsense on you immediately refuse the offer through the BBB portal and demand either immediate replacement or refund for the cost of your router.

Also...if D-Link all of sudden stops responding to you via email (which they have done in several cases) then you need to immediately notify the BBB through the portal or even better yet call them or fax them with the details (remember to keep everything).

D-link is sneaky folks, have doubts read all the posts from me in this thread...it should clear things up nicely. Do not trust them under any circumstances (remember, the only way you could get any results was to file a BBB complaint..what does this tell you about D-Link?)

Once again if you have any questions at all or need help let me know either in this thread or by pm or you can contact me directly at help@d-linkfixmyrouternow.info

Still no public release of the new firmware that alleges to have fixed the problem. Hmmm

I was a linksys converted to d-link customer with thousands invested in switches, ip cameras and routers at assorted places. After this ordeal I pulled all of the equipment and replaced it with other brands and put all the d-link in storage. I can't offload it to anyone and still sleep at night plus now we're waiting for the hammer to fall on d-link so I can't get rid of it.

I've moved on.

The Netgear WNDR3700 is pretty amazing. In fact I've enabled its wireless radio, something I had disabled on the DGL4500 due to stability issues and coverage.

I had one issue with the QoS rules, but after some fiddling found the options I needed to duplicate the functionality of my old rulesets. the UPNP is snappy and not buggy. File copies are amazing fast again with no lockups.

Re: my router still works.

Hey guys,

I got some news.. We finally got some code but we are not releasing it out yet to you guys. You know what happened last time everyone got the code and didn't like it. That said we are hand picking customers to try out this code and waiting for their feedback. It's not going to be released as soon as you think. We will be testing in our environment, which btw we never see the issue in house. Customers that we have picked will be testing out this code and we will wait for there results. If we get enough positive feedback from those selected customers we will make a decision to post it here as beta for you to try or not. It will all depend on testing results.

Sorry it has been this long and we may have lost you as a customer and wish you the best of luck on finding a new router. For those that are still around we are working on a fix.
Nevermind. I found it. That last sentence is unreal though. They couldn't care less that they lost a ton of customers. Oh and D-link...your post today stops nothing. The time where we might have considered giving you a break is long over. Every review, every forum, every gamer site, you name it is going to have access to these threads and all related issues with your products and customer service. Hell it may take us months to post in them all...but we're going to do it. And once enough people come forward to form a class...it's game over D-Link.

Well a mod posted in the d-link forum that they've got new fw coming that should fix the problem with the routers locking up and will release it to select peeps to test. I can hardly wait to see if it really works and if the problems are truly solved with this router.
Whats the thread. I'm there now and while I see a user or two talking about it no mods yet.

Oh lord that sucks. I would still file the complaint anyway. If nothing more than to get it documented and if D-Link has any brains they will fix you anyway.
