Bridge Mode on the SB5101 and public IP's

Hi All,
I'd like to place a Sonicwall Firewall behind the SB5101 cable modem that Astound provides.

Does the cable modem itself perform NAT or does the device behind the modem get a public IP address?

Do I need to bridge the SB5101?

Thanks

Barry
