So it looks like the 3.0 Firmware is already on the internet..
Are you guys going to wait until it is release via iTunes or download it now?

Tried it twice, failed both times with an Error 10. Oh well, I'll wait till the official GM release comes out next week.
Although IDK why they're waiting when they know it's ready.

Could not tell if it validated my uuid against the list on the developers accounts? My reasoning says that the GM is what is going on the iPhones that are being built right now for release next week. If that is the case, I would think it is not validating the UUID's? Since this is only a guess, I know if I was not on a Developer account, I would not trust it at this time and wait until next week. |

Same thing happened to me. I even verified the MD5 sum of what I downloaded... no dice. The restore failed at "verifying software" after installing it to the phone. I successfully restored with the 2.x firmware though.
EDIT: According to the dev site you need both 10.5.7 and iTunes 8.2 to perform the update. I'm going to retry.

I can vouch for this. I installed it, phone didn't lock up, it's not in a test mode and all seems well:
One thing I noticed right off the bat is it let me send each screen shot immediately and queued it in the outbox, unlike the previous versions where you had to wait for the application to finish sending a photo.

no... a friend got it a couple weeks ago. it works, but a lot of the apps don't work on it... at least at that point
