| Mike, I'm coming at you as an old fart that really doesn't like music videos, and as someone that doesn't watch music videos.
Because of that I can't compare this to anything, so I can only judge it by what I like or don't like, and what in my opinion, is done well or not so well,
IMHO, I think this was really well done, and loved the work with the lensbaby. I liked the tune and the way you cut the whole thing.
What I dislike about the few music videos I've seen is how extreme and overboard they can go.
You didn't do that. This is about the band and the song, as it should be.
I liked it, a lot. Well done!! |

| reply to mike kobal Well Mike, this is going to seem like a cop-out of sorts but I'm not going to write out my comment. However, the only reason is that it would be, word for word, the same as Willy's.
Willy, I owe you one!!! |

Excellent job!
Now if I might ask, I notice you have 3:36 in final how much time did you put on tape to distill down to that 3:36? Also if I might ask how did you script that production?
Thanks in advance.

| thanks kringle and splitpair. I agree, over-did the lensbaby this time - i had a vague concept, ideas like classic arrangements etc, black and white background, the going outside was an after thought, it was not really scripted but lets say- well prepared and improvised. |

| I like it, you can do stuff that you could do with a tilt-shift, but at a fraction of the cost. It gives a really nice look to the video.
The audio and the video go really well together. This seriously looks like a professional video. Many regards! -- I am the Flying Photog, see my website accordingly named Flyingphotog.com. User known formerly as zakooldude. |

I've like pretty much everything you've drawn our attention to here.
This of course has a more commercial focus. I thought you kept it interesting and did a very professional job. I had a lot of your style, and that is a good thing too! The camera views and change-ups went well with the music.
I do not know if video, is how you make an income, but I expect you could do well at it. (My inexperienced humble opinion!) --

I liked it, it worked.
I think the band needed to act a little less indie, though I suppose that's how it's turning. Indie is the new emo. -- Come play Mafia! | My Picture Blog |

You say that like it's a bad thing. |

| I've been to a few over in Seattle... Stars was by far the most lively crowd, but the band really had to work the crowd.
I've been at shows where the 20-somethings literally stood there for an hour and a half.

1 edit | reply to mike kobal You know what I thought when I watched the video...
It visually reminded me of the Beatles "A Hard Day's Night" movie. It seemed to have that same playful attitude.
This is exceptionally well done.
edit: but it didn't feel like it was a COPY of the aforementioned Beatles work. Just that same flavor, but different. |
