| PS3 - FF VII available for download
In case anyone missed it FF VII is available for download at the PS Store for only $9.99.
Just downloaded it this morning.
Hopefully this isn't old news for anyone .
I hadn't heard anything about a release for it and only found it cause my brother mentioned it was on there. And for $9.99 it's a great deal. -- HABYA HABYA HABYA TEAR DOWN THE HEMP STALKS EAT UP THE OLD MAN AND WOMAN AND CARRY OFF THE LITTLE GIRL MAY YOU DIE ALONE |

| I was JUST talking to my B-I-L about this and how I wanted to check them out, as I never really understood the hype. (Always fewlt turn based stuff was kinda lame), but I've run out of other stuff to play, so I wanted to check out the FF stuff. He said FFIII may be going back to far to really be worth it, but VII would be just about right....so thanks, I'll be picking this up this evening! |

| reply to habya I still have my original PS1 copy.
I was hoping for an announcement of a remake rather than a re-release. Even with as good of a game as FFVII was(is), I don't know if I can take the old graphics... LOL -- Insert wisdom here... |

| I still have my original discs as well, and play it on my PSP. However, for $10 to not have to find the discs and swap them at the "right" times. That is TEMPTING. -- I'd take the time to insult your intelligence, but you probably wouldn't get it. |

I wonder if it will hurt the resale price of the game as it currently is pricey. |

And for $10 it's definitely worth it, even with the old graphics. Heck, my girlfriend and I played through Secret of Mana not too long ago on the Wii, and those graphics were even worse; especially since they were stretched out on a 40" TV .
It would be awesome to have a re-make though. But hey, for $10 you can't find a much better game . -- HABYA HABYA HABYA TEAR DOWN THE HEMP STALKS EAT UP THE OLD MAN AND WOMAN AND CARRY OFF THE LITTLE GIRL MAY YOU DIE ALONE |

LOL Have you tried it on ePSXe 1.7.0 with all the graphics options on high (1024x768 or higher resolution, high res textures, AA...)?
It almost looks like an entirely different game - in a good way |

| I'm about 13 hours into it again. I just started playing it again because I couldn't find any great mmorpg's to play so I fgured I'd go back to the basics. even with the graphics the game is amazing. i wonder if i downloaded it i could use the saved game i already have saved on the ps3 HD. -- Mafia: »Pub Games Remember the golden rule of the internet..it's the place where men are men, women are also men, and children are the FBI. |

Not to spoil it for you but if you have not passed up the Midgar Zolom yet there is a way to make your game a lot easier.
I'm still curious if this is a straight up emulation of the original or are there enhancements. Just wondering if its better than using epsxe emulator. |

Anyway, there is a way to capture a powerful spell W.beta (?) very early on in the game which will just about destroy anyone on disk 1. |

I think all my characters are chilling around lvl 20 right now. I am quoting from a web site as its been a while for me so here goes:
if you want to get the powerful enemy skill Beta, which the Midgar Zolom casts, follow these steps. Firstly, equip one person with the Enemy Skill materia and Fire + Elemental on his/her armor. Cloud is a good pick for this since he probably has the highest max HP right now. Also, have someone in your group have the Poison and Restore materia. Next, confront the Midgar Zolom and Bio right away. If the Midgar Zolom doesn't turn green, cast it again. Keep on attacking it and healing until it stands up to its full height. At that time, have only the person without the Enemy Skill or the Restore materia attack. Why? It's because the Zolom will eventually do a move that'll cast one person out of the battle, usually the person that hit it last. Now, attack it with all your might, but have the person with the Enemy Skill materia with an HP of over 500 at least. The Zolom will then cast Beta. Heal up and revive ASAP, then kill it off. At that time, the Beta materia should be yours. Phew!
ps - the midgar zolom is the worm looking creature in front of the cave near midgar city |
