I know, the data sheet on their web site indicates GigE LAN ports, so I bought a Rev2 on Ebay, (I needed a second one anyway), but alas, no GigE! I think 802.11n is fiction as well.

And you would be right about the 802.11n, at least as far as the VZ version of the router is concerned.

What that means is that it available from the manufacturer as an extra cost option. There are a number of available options that VZ did not select:
•Wireless N
•Gig-E LAN ports
•USB port
•White sidewalls
