VZ techs don't 'wire' alarm systems. If there is no RJ31X installed in your situation, there is no place for a proper VZ 'demarc'. Hard-wired alarm panels always need to have proper polarity, but VZ installers don't have training in wiring them.....

You can't always blame the VZ installer - the Brinks installer could have also told you what he thought the problem was, but he blamed VZ when the issue could have been in the Brinks panel all along....
