It does have some advanced functions but those are controlled by the head end and of no use to the user. With insight, they don't usually change your ip address unless you are changing the MAC address of whatever device is plugged into the modem. How is the modem connected to your computer? If you have a router is it on all of the time, but to answer your question no they do not usually change the IP.

I wanted it bad, and I will say that my persistence paid off. I got in touch with the right people and then the ball started rolling, now keep in mind it took me 5 and half months to get to where I wanted to be, but once I found the right person the issue was fixed in a week. Its all about the red tape. I wish big ISP's had different call centers so that advanced people that understand a little bit, or a lot about what is going on can call and talk to people that will listen to them and that understand that you have already "Powered down and powered up" Good Luck man, I hope they get it fixed!

Funny thing is I was looking back through some old emails and private messages from this board. Six months ago when it went out, Insight tried to tell me it was some spyware, when I proved them wrong on that, they wanted to send a tech out to "check my lines". I told them to forget it because they had just checked my lines a couple of weeks earlier for some jittery pictures on my HD.
