I am baffled by what is going on here when I pay so much for service. Having said this I have a HN7000s modem and have been with tech support several times to no avail. They have told me I have an open Port and it may be a virus causing this. So I will address that. The bottom line here is that we are not getting what we pay for for whatever reason. It could be that they are "throttling" or any other number of things. I don't think it is my equipment and if it is they should support getting that straight also.

I have a technical background but not familiar with all the terminology. So, if it is not a bother could people that post here and are in the know give more concise instructions and explanations to us newbies.
wa5sox1 : Well, lots of changes over the past 10 days. First, the Inroute Group change to 31 and 41 (from 11), then two nights later the new software. Everyone keep an eye on your Inroute Group to see if it changes with the new software, or a day or two prior.

Thus far, I'm not a happy camper with the change. Transmit errors wayyyy up from the 0.01% I used to have. Sometimes, in diagnostics in the five minute windows, it says 6% loss. The loss seems to come in "bursts" .. sometimes browsing with no loss, then out of the blue 300 or more failed transmissions.

Another change I noted a few weeks back is the Firewall, in the System Info said "Enabled", but clicking on Firewall revealed it as "Disabled". Now it says:

General Config Bad fragment check: Enabled
Ifc Validation Check: DISABLED
Management IP Address: 10.XXX.XX.XX
Under Policy Stats:

ACL Statistics
--------------
ACL is Enabled from the NOC Side
Total num of valid rules: 2
Total num Packets Received: 2859329
Total num Packets Dropped: 0

So, I'm hoping they "fine tune" things, as browsing is sometimes Very sluggish, and I am getting "Marginals" and "Bads" where I always had "Good" in Diagnostics. Don't think it's anything on my end, as all these changes seem to correlate with the time I started receiving so many Nak'd transmissions. (Edit): Timing applications are suffering. And, when doing online transactions, I sometimes encounter difficulty. At this time, until things improve, I'm afraid to do any business online.

Here's my stats, and they ain't pretty. The loss percentage is just the average. As stated, the five minute windows have shown as much as 6% loss.
____________________________________________________

Adapter Main Statistics:
------------------------
Signal Strength.............. 92 Stream Msg-Ackd/Nakd........ 612058/9278
Flags............... 0x00001000 NonStream Msg-Ackd/Nakd..... 2374/25
Stream Error Rate....... 1.49% NonStream Error Rate....... 1.04%
UpTime (d:h:m:s).. 003:01:16:29 Aloha Starts................ 2374
WakeUp Aloha Starts.......... 0 Ranging Starts.............. 0
Transport Alarm Bit..... 0x0000 Frames Received............. 2963861
Addresses Open............... 7 Frame Errors: CRC/Bad Key... 0/0
Carrier Info....... 093:W:12475 Miscellaneous Problems...... 193
Rate Code........ 512k 2/3 (TC) No Receive Outroute Lock.... 0
Inroute Group................ 31 No FLL Lock................. 0
Inroute..................... -1 No Network Timing Sync...... 0
IQoS ID...................... 0 Current Modcod.............. 8-PSK 9/10 (17)
--
G26(93W)/1247H-H/SOHO/.98 2Wt/Gateway 66.82.159.144

wa5sox1 : Prior to this update, I always had an Inroute Group of 11. Now I have two, 31 and 41. It sort of toggles back and forth. .. As well, I am noting an enormous amount of failed transmissions. I just ran HughesNet's speedtest three times after clearing stats and had 374 failed transmissions. .. Before this "change", my failed transmission rate was always in the neighborhood of 0.01% or better. Now it's running at near 1% at times. .. Anyone noticing anything similar?
--
G26(93W)/1247H-H/SOHO/.98 2Wt/Gateway 66.82.159.144
