How to stop MP3 leechers?

Hi,
I have a server...well, a hosting plan.
On my space I have a lot of MP3 files. A backup, if you will.
I was looking at my site statistics today and I noticed that a bunch of these "MP3 leeching" sites for MySpace and the like are accessing my files.
How do I stop this?

Contact the abuse department at your hosting company for assistance!

So there isn't any way to just disable hotlinking?
Like, if someone tries to pull "Yes - Roundabout.mp3" from my server...they can't?

Trust me, the abuse department will ensure this doesn't happen any more.

This will block requests from certain referrers, which should do the trick for you.

So what do I do, email DreamHost and say, "My MP3s--which I do use in a player on my website--are being leeched?"

Won't that stop ME from being able to use my files in a flash MP3 player on my site as well as get rid of the leechers?

(Aah, looks like my SOCKS5 proxy is working )

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand...I'm back.

How could these things be finding my files?

I'm new to the whole hosting thing, sorry....

user-agent: *
Disallow: /flvplayer.swf
Disallow: /*.flv$

Dreamhost has a ton of info on how to be invisible to spiders and the like. If you don't want anybody --except you-- being able to access your files, then you should configure .htaccess to your needs.

If your hosting using CPanel use Hot linking protection.

Get rid of the robots.txt file and put everything in a folder with a rather cryptic name...numbers, uppercase, and lowercase. Better yet, put them in two folders. And don't have any links to them anywhere.
