| How to stop MP3 leechers?
Hi, I have a server...well, a hosting plan. On my space I have a lot of MP3 files. A backup, if you will. I was looking at my site statistics today and I noticed that a bunch of these "MP3 leeching" sites for MySpace and the like are accessing my files. How do I stop this? |

@dreamhost.com | So there isn't any way to just disable hotlinking? Like, if someone tries to pull "Yes - Roundabout.mp3" from my server...they can't? |

This will block requests from certain referrers, which should do the trick for you. |

Won't that stop ME from being able to use my files in a flash MP3 player on my site as well as get rid of the leechers?
(Aah, looks like my SOCKS5 proxy is working ) |

| reply to Get off my lawn Get rid of the robots.txt file and put everything in a folder with a rather cryptic name...numbers, uppercase, and lowercase. Better yet, put them in two folders. And don't have any links to them anywhere. -- Remember the 2008 firefighters and police LODD's in St. Louis: PO Ballman, Sgt. Biggs, FF Hummert, Sgt. King, FF Riggins... all murdered...RIP brothers. |
