whats going to suck is for people who rent apartments who can't put up a satellite dish will have to convert to cable.
My suggest is to just get DSL and phone package.

I think FIOS will still be Verizon.

Not in the states like OR, WA, and IN that have FiOS and are part of this deal. We'll have fiber but it won't be a part of the Verizon network/company/billing/support/etc.

And to think Verizon is still sending get FiOS PR out here and with No intention of actually delivering more than the status quo.
