Can't access VPN

I haven't had any real problems with my VPN network (as an off-campus source of Internet etc at my university) until recently; I'm not really sure what's happened but I think it's a problem with my computer, as I know other students are not experiencing these problems.

Basically, the client opens up, I click Connect, it asks me for my password - which I give - and then the client starts "Negotiating Security Policies", except it never, ever connects...it just negotiates security policies for a while before giving up and saying "Not Connected".

Any idea what might be causing this? I'm on Windows XP and have turned off the firewall, and the TCP/IP thing is ticked in the connection properties.

Would love a solution ASAP but just a warning - I'm pretty much a dummy as far as technical computer stuff goes, so make your responses in as plain English as you can...

Re: Can't access VPN

What type of VPN and what client software are you using?

Have you checked with the university network administrators and/or help desk for possible help?

Re: Can't access VPN

Cisco is the client I'm using.

The university provides some troubleshooting information on their website that I've tried using but has been, so far, no help. And I know it's not a system thing, as plenty of other people are using it and its working perfectly.

Never mind, looks like it was a system problem. Client is working fine now
