Awesome idea.
*Sign* plus thumbs up!
Er question: Would an image fetcher expose website to copyright violations charges? I think not, as DMCA safe harbor provisions protect it.
so...

| reply to nwrickert Wouldn't DMCA safe harbor provisions protect the site? If the copyright holder objects, and the offending image is removed, then no further action occurs. -- "Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power." -- Benito Mussolini

Ok... Cool!
Still doesn't bother me though. Others might not like it. As for images, if it is an image worth posting here, saving a copy is probably something I would want to do anyways.
Then uploading it here would get it resized... problem averted! -- Think outside the Fox... Opera |

It seems USELESS to maximize any web browser on anything larger than 1680x1050. |

You wouldn't link to oversized images on your personal website. Why would you then be so flippant to do so on someone else's? |

| *I* usually don't. *I* have no problem posting large ass images from my HDD and letting the site resize them.
Why is it so hard for people to take the 5-20 extra seconds? As I stated, big ass pictures don't bother me. I can simply scroll them smaller.

Put more pressure on the mods/admins, that they must do something.
They just decide enough is enough, they we will do Weirdal in thread »Add an image fetcher? has said.
Or they may decide: We will not allow Hotlinking anymore, period. -- Please use the "yellow (IM) envelope" to contact me and please leave the URL intact. |
