Wouldn't DMCA safe harbor provisions protect the site? If the copyright holder objects, and the offending image is removed, then no further action occurs.

Still doesn't bother me though.
Others might not like it.
As for images, if it is an image worth posting here, saving a copy is probably something I would want to do anyways.
Then uploading it here would get it resized... problem averted!

Why is it so hard for people to take the 5-20 extra seconds?
As I stated, big ass pictures don't bother me.
I can simply scroll them smaller.

Put more pressure on the mods/admins, that they must do something.
They just decide enough is enough, they we will do Weirdal in thread »Add an image fetcher? has said.
Or they may decide: We will not allow Hotlinking anymore, period.
