You my friend have no idea just what sort of stability problem we have. It has absolutely nothing to do with our home set-ups the problem lies on Metrocast's end.

Are you by chance, Metrocast Support? That sounds like their logic. "The problem always lies on the customers end."

no buy chance i am not i work on pc for a long time amd most of what the speed problem people have is from psp file sharing. one of the guys told me the other day someone said their speed was 1.5m or slower they checked their system and he has been running over 7.5 megs for over 1 hour he said that all pc's was off but the one he was using they told him that his speeds was running what he was paying for. he had a server he was running and blamed it on metrocast. you sound like some one that is doing that if your speed are that bad.

I hate to bust your bubble pal, but I have no p2p(At least thats what I assume you mean) programs on my computer or any other one connected to my network, stop trying to make yourself sound like you know what causes my issues when you don't know me or any real details of my problems.

What happens when you use a Metrocast speedtest from the same computer?

I don't think it would matter. I'm in the same town as Morty, and my speedtest results are fine.

I am about to move in the area and by looks of it, I dont think either DSL or Cable are good. I hear terror stories about Metrocrap as you guys refer to it. Are they buying or leasing the pipelines from comcast by any chance? I know smaller companies do that. Either way, what would you guys recomend?

My results don't waver from the test below. When all of our equipment is working (it's had problems for me twice in two years), it's rock solid. This result if from my wireless laptop while I'm in the backyard...

I seem to have an issue when it rains....Metrocast has been out to my place to check and said things look fine line wise.

If you use one of metrocast's speedtest is will let you know if there is an actual issue on their network or on one of the boundry servers.

Choose the test that is in your region as if this test is full speed then you know the problem lies out side of your modem or the lines to your house. It could still be a metrocast problem as ptrowski says.

Grunge thanks for the lists of test sites as if some one from down south tried the NH or CT test it would not be of any help as they would have to pass out of their local loop to do the test.

I am staying at a hotel in Westbrook CT and did a test back to the metrocast test site. Sure would like to get these speeds at home.
