| reply to DallasMike Well I live with a bunch of intolerant passive aggressive technophobes who, when getting something unlimited for virtually free, spend most of their days whining and complaining that it's not perfect enough. When they pick up the phone and it's not instantaneous mind meld 3-d holographic quality they instantly tell me it's something I did, e.g. bought the service, it sucks etc etc. Never mind that the person they're talking to is on their cell phone in a tunnel. Having said that, another one of my group runs bit torrent morning noon and night and absolutely refuses to understand what I'm talking about when I tell him to throttle the bandwidth down so of course all isochronous traffic, i.e. VoIP suffers.
To be honest I'm ready to throw my hands up and tell them to go back to POTS, even if it's 10x the cost. I'm just sick of people who can't tell the difference between a computer and "The Internet" screaming about every stupid trivial nonsense that pops into their heads. |

Was your vonage device a v-portal? If it was a simple rollback of firmware would have fixed your problem -- GO LEAFS GO (all the way to the golf course) |

They're the worst excuse for a company there is, right alongside AS&S and eBay. But, at least in AS&S' case, I can see they were clearly incompetent jackasses; not malicious lying bastards. Even as much as i loathe the ebay bored of dictators, and their lying, scheming selves, well, yeah, they might be just as bad. Hard to say for sure. But, needless to say, Vonage has lost me, forever, and will get as much bad publicity from me as possible. Hey, they deserve it, afterall. |

What's that old expression about the shit hitting the fanboys? Ha... you think the Vonage CSR's have any of Vonage's stock? The CSR'S? -- 1/20/09 = The final day of our Retarded Cowboy President! |

1 edit | reply to mahermusic said by mahermusic : You used a faulty router. On what basis do you say that?
We can speculate, but there is no certainty.
Also: Everybody and everything on this world has faults. Do you believe that Vonage has any faults at all, or are they as perfect as could ever be?
If Vonage is the absolute "greatest", if they have no faults and no room for improvement, if Vonage is always right, and if dissatisfied customers are always wrong, then why ever bother discussing anything? |

| reply to DallasMike Sorry to hear you got hit by Vonage's semi-stealth cancellation policy. It IS in the TOS: quote: 6.5 Fees upon disconnection. (a) Disconnection by you. If you attempt to disconnect service before the end of your current service term, you will be responsible for all the charges for your current term, including unbilled charges, plus any disconnection fee. In addition, if you disconnect service that is based on a commitment before the end of the commitment, you agree to pay us the applicable recovery fee.
It's possible that you can get some of that credited back when you return your ATA -- I'm not sure. |

| reply to dgroover Here's an update. Got moved to Uverse. Trying to cancel Vonage. They are telling me that I owe ~$120 in disconnect fees and that I had a 24 month committment??? They never communicated a committment to me. And even if so, to expect me to pay fees for service that doesn't work? This is appalling. If I can't get the fee waived I will lodge a complaint with the BBB, not that it will make much difference. |
