 DMT Guide

Hi All,

Does anyone know of any guide or tutorial for DMT. I'd like to know what the information on the screen means (attenuation, SNRM, etc.). I'd also like to have the range of values for this information so as I can see whether I am within range or not. Any help is appreciated!

Don't forget to ask about 'DSL_StatScope', 'OrbMt', 'RouterStats', 'STMT', 'ADSL Monitor' and SNMP tools...

Do these tools contain tutorial guide documentation of the underlying concepts?

Which of them are free from MS product requirements and/or distribute program source and documentation, and/or run on Mac OS X?

What other questions should we be asking about these tools?

Hummm...

We do have the source-code for TerTech's 'DSL_StatScope',
which is what i consider to be unequaled, professional-grade
and user-friendly. At 1st, a DSL subscriber won't even need
to worry about safe operating margins with it: he just has to
watch for daily patterns, one sign his wiring may require a fix.

'DSS', 'DMT' and 'RouterStats' are built to work under 'WinE',
MicroSoft has nothing to do with them and i must also point
out i use the 'GNUmeric' SpreadSheet (as found on 'PureOS',
a Linux LiveCD) to process log-files. New MACs had an Intel
processor the last time i heard, i bet it would be worth a try!

As for tutorials, i share my experience as it goes because it
is work in progress and nobody could teach me what i know
now. I had to accept that there would be a "learning curve"
for me as there's been for others before me. In the begining,
all the advice a DSL user can obtain/understand is about the
"buy or don't buy" decision... We can spare you some of the
frustration but nobody can walk the road for someone else.
