Just put the camera bag next to your purse so you'll grab it on the way out

Spring *is* dandelions
said by sashwa See Profile :

How about pictures of the waterfalls in Putnam? There are a series of them.
Putnam's a nice Sunday drive out Rt.44 west from Providence. Some mills on the river. A flood in 1955 gave the town an opportunity to rebuild after the mess was cleaned up.

Today was the annual Oyster Shucking contest, although we didn't stop.

The real sign of Spring? Temps in the 80s, and motorcycles *everywhere*. No motorcycle pix, though.

Any town that has a Thai place is my kind of town.

I wish we had a falls like that around here

I've been hearing what seems like nothing but motorcycles all weekend. I usually don't mind it, guess I have to get used to it again The heat's been a bit too much so suddenly but thankfully it's due to receed again. Not that I don't like the heat, I just can't bear the heat with such bright sun. They make me melt.

Great pictures, birdie! Now I'm homesick.

I remember the flood in '55. It just about wiped out the town. We were living on the river at the time. In fact our house is no longer there. It's now the site of the Synagogue or there abouts.

Photo #7 should be captioned "First Shorts of Spring"

We asked a woman who was with her 8-year-old son on rollerblades to take a picture for us. Everything was fine until I said it was for friends I met on the internet.

You'd think the internet was a bad place by the momentary look on her face. Well, sometimes you can't be too careful.

But her smile came back and she was ok with it when I explained it was for someone on the west coast who was from Putnam.

Did the people in the shots freak at you for taking their picture? I ask because I recently had that happen, and I mean she FREAKED like I had burned down her house or beaten her kid. I think she was over-reacting, but you can't tell her that.

All the people on the boats are either friends or family members. No one cares, there were cameras all over the place.

Lilacs are in bloom here! Interesting (to me anyway) factoid: Where there are old lilacs behind old houses are good areas for archeological digs. Not very pretty, because they were next to the outhouse, but rich in historical treasure.
BTW, from the fahm.

When I visited a friend in London we used to watch a show called Time Team (hosted by Tony Robinson, Baldrick from The Black Adder). They loved digging through outhouse holes because everything was tossed down there (and the human waste is long gone).
