I detect a road trip.....
I do want to make a drive to Farmington and Bristol Ct to visit and take pictures of homes I grew up in... before I moved BACK to Maine where I was born.

My Jeep has an appointment to get the front "stabalizer bar" replaced next Wednesday.
MAYBEY.... after that. I will take that drive so I can do this before summer when I become unable to go.

"Born and raised" says there's family there, and hopefully still is. I went back 35 years later to a place we lived when I was a kid. While the people who lived there were nice, it was all different. The cornfields had been subdivided, and the property split up so the horse pasture was just overgrown weeds. (Yes, I recognize a field waiting for haying, these were weeds.)
Sometimes, going back is bittersweet.
Want pictures of any place in particular? Maybe I'll take the missus for a Sunday drive. |

| All my family except for my daughter and her family are still back there. I'm the black sheep of the family. My Dad and a bunch of family are in Putnam, Moosup, Foster, and Foster Center.
You are right about the changes around Putnam. My Dad still lives in the house I grew up in. It did butt up to a blueberry field and woods. There are now condos there now.
How about pictures of the waterfalls in Putnam? There are a series of them.

In Farmington, I know that the open field I used to play in, and zoom around with go-carts, had been made into a condo complex.
I also "think" the house lot we had, was subdevided... but not sure about that.
As I wrote. I really want to get my ass back down to Ct, and get photos of where I grew up.

| My 'home town' has changed very much. It used to be very community oriented, but the last 20 years of yuppies moving in has made it unrecognizable. Many of the quaint houses are now McMansions crammed on to too-small lots, cars worth more than most people's annual salary, etc.
