Vonage IS a rat.
I purchased a wireless "Vonage device" NEVER got the rebate. It didn't work (supposedly that model was defective; but, last i checked Best Buy still sold it). Vonage did refund the money, so, in that sense, I got my money back.
BUT...
After several months of complaining about the piss-poor service, and being lied to about billing issues, I decided to cancel. Despite the corporate office having verified the tape, and my claims were true, I was told "We still cannot honor that". So, piss on them for lying to me not once, but twice.
THEN, when I cancelled, I was charged for the equipment I returned, AND a cancellation fee, which I was told several times I would not be required to pay, because I purchased my equipment, returned equipment, and was not under any time frame contract.
Lies 3,4 and 5.
After getting off the phone with Vonage, I called my CC co to stop the charges before they went through, but, they had already gone thru! Not even 10 minutes later!
Vonage can go to hell for all I care.
Btw, interesting how I had gotten dropped 30-50 times a day (literally, NO exaggeration) with Vonage, but, when I went with Time Warner's digital phone, I have been dropped maybe 10-20x in almost a year's time! Of course, my friend has Vonage, never once a poblem with his connection or his phone service. Had they not lied to me, I could have and would have chalked it up to bad sevice area, and if I moved, I would have returned. But, lie to me? Oh hell no! They got a couple hundred bucks, and thats it. Vonage can go to hell for all I care. I'd rather go back to smoke signals than use them |
