Lol, the SO actually does want a larger screen.
I tried the 1360x768 (1366 was not available in the nvidia driver options) Sadly, I too know that one by heart. Actually its probably a good thing because I sell tv's for a living and thats part of the product spec, lol. Whats really sad is I know the defualt Linksys router IP by heart and my wife and father (who is a computer guy too) stare at me funny when I can recite it to them.
I am connected via DVI to HDMI, as tv has no DVI or monitor port.
I have tried googling some, but I keep getting distracted finding fixes for problems I dont have but might one day, and fixes for other issues I'm having, or things I'm remembering to install. (I wiped my HD and am constantly remembering settings and programs to reinstall/set, and I just set up an old box with ubuntu 8.04 server as a file/print server and am learning about how to fix problems with that one as well.) And as soon as I get a few extra network cards, I'm gonna put together a firewall/router box for shits and giggles. (Also because my 56yr old mother got an iPhone before me and I fear my geek credentials are at stake)
I'm also wondering if the PS3 can access MythTV like it can with windows media center. I saw something about it on one of my searches for a fix for my resolution woes, but I cant remember where and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with that.

Oh yeah, I beleive my monitor IS sending the wrong EDID info, as it tries to tell me that my tv's native resolution is 1920x1080. Which would be awesome if interlacing didnt make me want to stab myself in the eyes. Oddly, I wonder if it may be an nvidia issue as the nvidia driver in windows also says its native 1920x1080 and when I used to have my XP box with an ATI card, it said it was 1366x768 IIRC.
I may just have to wait for an nvidia driver that has a scaler in it like the windows driver does. |
