That's a great idea, not sure why we didn't think of that earlier! I just logged a feature request for a preference to turn off the graphs.

Also, we just released a new beta with GPS support and the ability to export data to .ns1 files... these features were submitted by an inSSIDer user... go open source! :-)

As old as Netstumbler is, I still find that it gives more accurate signal readings then inSSIDer, it could just be my Wi-Fi card, I am not sure.

Still I really like inSSIDer, and the channel view makes it far easier to explain channel overlap to a non-techical person.
It is possible that NetStumbler is getting more accurate readings from the Wi-Fi card as it uses a special driver and inSSIDer uses informatin from NDIS. If you could send side-by-side screenshots or .ns1 files from each (supported in the inSSIDer beta we released yesterday) to me (ryan@metageek.net) we'll look into it.

I'm glad you like the channel view; it is so easy to show people the problem with throwing up a high power network on channel 4 when there are already active networks on 1 and 6. Our neighbors had access points on 4 and 9, which didn't leave us a quiet channel to use. I used the channel view to show him how the configuration caused problems for us, and used Wi-Spy to show how much NOISE their cordless headsets caused across the entire 2.4 GHz band.
