ATT DSL Router/Modem

I have ATT DSL. My wireless 2Wire 2700 recently blew and I bought a wired ATT modem from Craigslist. I have 2 questions. 1. Someone told me I could use a Netgear wireless hooked up to my ATT to get wireless in my home. How do I set this up? 2. If I buy a Embarq 2Wire 2701 off of ebay, will it work for ATT? Thanks for any help you can give!!
