NAV 2009, and now with a free upgrade to 2010, both are most-definately the lightest AVs I've ever run. And I have NOD32 V3 on two other PCs here.

I actually switched to NAV 2009!I'm shocked. After years of regular NOD32 use. I switched. And was pleasantly surprised on how light on resources it was.

Symantec supporter and user here. Recently migrated from SAV 10.1.8.8000 to SEP 11.0.4202 since SAV started failing to block and detect more recent malicious infections. SEP has already found and cleaned infections on PCs SAV claimed to be clean. As an added bonus SEP has improved performance and uses less memory (extra 10 MB free since migration)

I used KAV until last night when my subscription came up. I DL'd Bit defender but have found that it messed up the computer too much so now trying Avira. This is on Vista 64 bit with 4gigs of RAM.

I've been AVG guy for long time. However with Ver 8 I am annoyed by the beg screen for the free version. Does AVAST do a similar thing with the intermittent beg screen?

I am beginning to second guess my decision to go with CA Antivirus with Anti spyware. Just like you will get everyone's opinion here, if you google "best firewall for windows xp" and no two sites will agree. Mind bogging.
How important is software to have certifications with ICSA Labs, West Coast Labs, and Virus Bulletin?
